Join us in the Paisley Park Soundstage as we resume the Paisley Park Cinema Series with Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised). This unforgettable event includes a live Q&A with with director, DJ, drummer, and Prince superfan, Questlove, a film screening of Summer of Soul in the Paisley Park Soundstage, and a DJ set by Questlove.
Summer of Soul is a 2021 documentary film that interweaves restored live footage and moving interviews of the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, when thousands of people came together to celebrate Black history, culture, music, and fashion. The film has gained critical and universal acclaim, winning both the Grand Jury prize and Audience Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
Prince was a filmmaker and film lover who enjoyed hosting film screenings for his fans and friends. Now we’re inviting you to get your ticket for this one-of-a-kind film in the legendary space of Paisley Park.
