British band Hot Chip has made a career out of exploring the collision point between heart-rending indie rock, cleverly self-aware pop and spastic, dancefloor-ready electronica. Since their 2004 debut Coming On Strong and the breakout success of its 2006 follow-up The Warning, they've toured the world and headlined festivals, collaborated with the likes of Peter Gabriel and psych-rock vet Robert Wyatt, and launched a smattering of side projects.

Along the way, they've continued to hone their lush, inviting electro-pop sound over the course of three more albums. The latest, the self-produced In Our Heads, was released earlier this summer and earned some of the band's most enthusiastic reactions to date.

During their US tour, Hot Chip found some time to stop by The Current, play a few songs, and chat with Mark Wheat.

Songs played: "Look At Where We Are/If I Were Your Girlfriend," "Night and Day" and "Don't Deny Your Heart."
