Ahead of two nights of shows at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Bob Mould stopped by The Current's studio for a live on-air chat with Jim McGuinn. "Coming back to the Twin Cities is always a great experience for me, this is my music home," Mould says, "so the expectations are always pretty high."

In the course of the conversation, Mould describes how much he enjoys working with bandmates Jon Wurster and Jason Narducy. Mould also explains how Colin Meloy's and Ryan Adam's cameos came about for the videos of "I Don't Know You Anymore" and "The War", respectively.

There's even some reflection on Mould's early solo records and on his days as part of the 1980s' Twin Cities music scene. "[Hüsker Dü] was a great band, and those were great times," he says. "It's always great to come back."
