Variety reports that Lindsey Buckingham has parted ways with Fleetwood Macreportedly being fired after a dispute over touring. Buckingham's last performance with the band was in January, when the group were MusiCares Person of the Year honorees preceding the Grammys.

The veteran rockers have recruited a couple of ringers to handle Buckingham's parts. Mike Campbell of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House will join Fleetwood Mac on a tour with dates to be announced shortly.

"We are thrilled to welcome the musical talents of the caliber of Mike Campbell and Neil Finn into the Mac family. With Mike and Neil, we'll be performing all the hits that the fans love, plus we'll be surprising our audiences with some tracks from our historic catalogue of songs," said the band in a statement. "Fleetwood Mac has always been a creative evolution. We look forward to honoring that spirit on this upcoming tour."

Graceland gets remix album

Every song on Paul Simon’s classic album Graceland is being remixed for a new album called Graceland: The Remixes. Simon has signed off on the project, which will feature artists like Paul Oakenfold and Thievery Corporation putting a new spin on tracks from the 1986 LP.

"What do you say when someone asks you to remix a classic?" said one of the remixers, Andy Cato of Groove Armada "Well normally, no! It's a rule we've managed to follow for 20 years. Until we got a call about remixing a track from Graceland."

The remix album will be released on June 1; remixes of "The Boy in the Bubble" and "All Around the World or The Myth of Fingerprints" are out now. (Rolling Stone)

Yoko Ono's rock gets stolen

An engraved rock worth $17,500 has been stolen from an interactive Yoko Ono artwork on display in Toronto. Authorities are searching for the thief, who was pictured by security cameras after walking away with the stone. Engraved "LOVE YOURSELF," the stone was part of a work where "visitors are invited to pick up a stone and hold it, concentrating on the word, and then placing the stone upon the pile of other stones in the center of the room," notes the website of the Gardiner Museum. Here's what you're not supposed to do: keep the stone. (Pitchfork)

Tool will teach you how to play Tool

Progressive metal band Tool have announced a short and unusual tour: at each of six shows, three of the band's four members will offer "a rare immersive dissection and performance" that constitutes "an intimate dissection of the inner workings of the band's music." They'll also be bringing a "traveling exhibit of unique memorabilia" on the midwestern jaunt, which begins May 11 at Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota. (Pitchfork)

John Cusack skeptical about High Fidelity reboot

John Cusack, who starred in the 2000 film based on Nick Hornby’s novel High Fidelity, is skeptical about Disney's plans to reboot the story as a TV series for their new streaming network. It's not because Disney reportedly plans to replace his character with a woman, though...in fact, that's the only part he's optimistic about.

"They'll f--- it up," the actor tweeted, adding a winky-face emoticon to soften the blow. "The woman part seems good," he continued. "The rest, not so much." Cusack noted that he hopes Hornby is involved in the new series. "If he's not, it'll suck." (Pitchfork)
