Last week, Kanye West announced that he's writing a philosophy book. Now, he's added that he's writing the book in real time, on Twitter. "No publisher or publicist will tell me what to put where or how many pages to write," he tweets. "This is not a financial opportunity this is an innate need to be expressive. Details emerge about Cher musical

A stage musical called The Cher Show opens on June 12 for a limited run in Chicago before moving to Broadway this fall, and the icon herself has been very much involved in the show's development — giving interviews to the playwright, sharing tips with the three actors who will be playing her at various stages of her long career, and even visiting rehearsals, where Rolling Stone reports she teared up while watching the recreation of her meeting with former beau Gregg Allman.

In addition to Allman, actors will portray love interests including Sonny Bono, David Geffen, and even Rob Camilletti, the 22-year-old bagel baker Cher dated at age 40. "I'm still very good friends with my exes," said Cher about the producers' ease in obtaining permission to depict those men onstage. One ex who won't be making an appearance in the show: Gene Simmons. (Rolling Stone)

Labyrinth headed to the stage

Another music icon to be dramatized on stage (though not as one of Cher's exes) is David Bowie, whose Goblin King character will be a central part of the "big theatrical" adaptation of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. Henson's son Brian Henson revealed that the stage show is in development, possibly for London's West End. The film is headed back to theaters for three days starting April 29, and a sequel is still in the works — but that's still in the early stages of development, says Henson Jr. (Rolling Stone)

Marilyn Manson was banned from Coachella (he says)

Marilyn Manson will appear at Coachella with the metal band X Japan this weekend.

As Pitchfork notes, "It is unclear when Manson was banned from Coachella or why. Or if he ever actually was banned."

Harry, you scamp!

This is an amazing tweet, and the best part is that it's totally true.

As the Takeout notes, "That charming little rascal Harry Styles ended the European leg of his tour by issuing a gracious thank-you to his opening act, Mabel McVey. [...] His gratitude took the form of a cream pie and some silly string. Hijinks!"
