The Current has been invited back to broadcast at the Iceland Airwaves Festival, a four-day music event featuring hundreds of emerging musical acts from around the world.

Celebrating its 20th year, the festival has welcomed The Current to share the Reykjavik-based events through live broadcast, interviews and studio sessions. The festival runs November 7 through November 10, and you can hear Mark Wheat from Iceland Friday, Nov. 8, 6-10 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9, 3-7 p.m.

"This will be our second year broadcasting live from Iceland, which still boggles our minds from a technical and aesthetic perspective," said Jim McGuinn, Program Director at The Current. "Iceland Airwaves has become one of the best music discovery destinations annually."

Mark Wheat will broadcast from Skuli Craft Bar in Reykjavik November 8-10 and will also be giving listeners detailed reports about the food, the people, and the culture of this special place. We'll also feature sessions with artists including Aurora, Hildur, Natalie Prass, and more.
