The Chart Show: 49 and Feeling Fine

Topping the chart for the fourth week out of seven in total is Lizzo and Missy Elliott, who started making music in 1989, the same year as Beck! He just celebrated his 49th birthday this week by being inducted into our Chart Hall of Fame for the seventh time and releasing a re-mix video for this song.

Even though Billie Eilish hasn't hung on to #1 with the blitz of Lizzo, Beck and The Raconteurs, she's back up to 4th this week poised for another push. Pitchfork have her on their series of videos Over/Under, where she rated Goths, Home Schooling and Invisalign!

Although it's been ten years since The Raconteurs last album, they stay at three this week, as Brian Oake explains in the Album of the Week review, that don't sound much different now, and that's a good thing. There's still tickets left for their Armory show next Monday!

Although The Beths slip down 5 places this week, I heard great reviews of their Rock The Garden set. They're in Des Moines this weekend at the big 80/35 Festival with Portugal the Man, Lissie, Metric, and more.

Biggest upward movers this week are The Avett Brothers with the first single from their forthcoming album. They just started their massive USA tour and they're taking Trampled By Turtles as support for some shows including Treasure Island Casino in Welch MN, which is, as many of them are, already sold out.

Still big fans of the album as concept and vinyl, Silversun Pickups must be disappointed that, according to a nifty map on their website there are NO stores selling their new 'Widow's Weed' in North or South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana! But they can take solace in being back in at #14.

Also back in at fifteen after a weeks hiatus are Cage The Elephant, who start their tour with Beck Thursday night in Washington state and they're donating a dollar for every ticket sold through Plus 1 which goes to local food shelters.

Sitting at #30 on our All Time Hall of Fame Chart with 5 inductions, Alabama Shakes might not go any higher. Their leader Brittany Howard enters for the first time as a solo artist, with the new album out September 20.
