As mentioned in Today in Music History, on this date in 1980, Blondie hit No. 1 in the U.S. with the song "Call Me." The song includes the lyric, "Call me on the line," joining a list of songs that mention or suggest the use of a telephone.

Popular music reflects the culture, so naturally song lyrics will include references to telephones. But few in 1980 would have predicted the ever-present way phones are now part of our everyday lives. Naturally, the mention of phones in songs has continued to increase.

So let's celebrate that! For today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention or suggest telephones, phone booths or smartphones?
