The Summer Solstice officially began this morning at 4:13am CT. This marks the longest day of the year, and the first day of the summer season. According to the National Weather Service, a solstice occurs when "Earth arrives at the point in its orbit where the North Pole is at its maximum tilt [about 23.5 degrees] toward the Sun, resulting in the longest day and shortest night of the calendar year”.
Judging by the heat wave Minnesota experienced this past week, it’s safe to say summer has made its grand arrival. What better way to celebrate the official start to the new season than with some good music? For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs about summer do you want to hear?
