The New Romantics
May 31, 2018
This week on the show, Jake Rudh spotlights a U.K. musical movement that had a very short lifespan, kicking off in 1979 and peaking in 1981, but its fashion sense and musical influences are still very much felt today. The New Romantic movement jump-started the careers of bands like Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Culture Club, but all of them can be traced back to pretty much three acts: David Bowie, Roxy Music and Kraftwerk. We're going to cover all of these groundbreaking acts -- and everything in between -- this week on Transmission.
