Dream Pop
July 29, 2021
There was a time in the early '90s indie-rock scene when bands that featured lush, gorgeous melodies; droning, chiming guitars; and soft, muted vocals were all the rage. Well, that dream pop sound has been making a big comeback these past few years, and this week on the program, Jake Rudh covers the artists who inspired that scene — the bands that lived it — as well as the acts that carry on that awesome sound today: Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Beach House, M83, Wild Nothing, the Sundays … you get it. It's going to be a good one.
