The Time Machine drops in on 1980 this time, the year John Lennon was killed in New York City. Bruce Springsteen released his only two-album set, called "The River." Exciting new things were happening in the U.K., with albums from the Jam, the Pretenders, and Elvis Costello and the Attractions. In the States, there were big albums from Devo, Talking Heads, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Stevie Wonder rolled into the '80s with the reggae-influenced "Hotter Than July" album.
