The Time Machine makes a stop in 1991 this time. There was something in the coffee in the Pacific Northwest; grunge broke big with albums from Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. R.E.M. dropped their Out of Time album, which sold over 18 million copies. Hip hop was hitting the mainstream with albums from Cypress Hill and A Tribe Called Quest. Bonnie Raitt released her biggest-selling album of her career. It's all 1991, our year on this episode of Time Machine Tuesday.
