The Time Machine takes you back 20 years to 2002 this time, the year Coldplay dropped their second album, and it was no sophomore slump. It was a year of ups and downs for the band Wilco, who ultimately released what many call the best album of their career. We were first introduced to Norah Jones, who released one of the best selling albums of the new millennium. Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings dropped their debut and kickstarted the retro soul movement. The Flaming Lips showed a more sensitive side on the Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots album.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers won their third straight NBA title, and American Idol debuted in the States; it was Kelly Clarkson who was the season one winner. It's all 2002, our year on this episode of Time Machine Tuesday.
