The Time Machine stops in 1981 this time, a year of new artists emerging like Stray Cats and the Go Go's. It was a big year for Prince, who opened for the Rolling Stones and issued Controversy. David Bowie and Queen collaborated on a song that's aged nicely. The Police were huge — they issued their fourth album the same year Grace Jones covered one of their songs.

It’s all 1981, our year on this episode of Time Machine from the Current.
