In 1976, there were two (in)famous Sex Pistols gigs at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester, England. The June 4 gig is notorious as having relatively sparse attendance, yet numerous luminaries of English punk and post-punk were allegedly in attendance, including future members of Buzzcocks, Joy Division, Simply Red, and even Morrissey of The Smiths. Sex Pistols returned for July 20, 1976, with the newly-formed Buzzcocks as the openers, featuring many of the same folks in attendance.

This week on Teenage Kicks, we'll be highlighting various attendees of those shows, as well as some other surprises.
