On this United States of Americana, I’ll feature a few brand-new songs that just dropped in the last few days! I have tunes from country legend Dwight Yoakam, emerging outlaw country artist Paul Cauthen & Lilly Hiatt, who happens to be the daughter of John Hiatt!    

We will also hear from a bunch of artists in town in the week to come, including The Avett Brothers/Trampled By Turtles, Crystal Gayle, The Heavy Heavy, Drive-By Truckers & Richard Thompson, who plays Saturday at the Fitzgerald here in St. Paul!

We also remembered rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd. The bands plane crashed on this day in 1977, killing singer Ronnie Van Zandt, guitarist Steve Gaines & his sister Cassie.
