The Current helped to present the Public Radio Rocks day stage at the Austin Convention Center along with like-minded noncommercial stations KXT (Dallas), KUT (Austin), WFUV (New York), and XPN (Philadelphia).

Eccentric soul man Charles Bradley brought his A-game to the SXSW radio day stage on March 15, 2013.

Born in 1948, the southern soul singer made a living for a time as a James Brown impersonator in New York. Years later, signed to the Dunham records imprint of Daptone records, "The Screaming Eagle of Soul" was back at South by Southwest in support of his new record Victim of Love.

Hear his entire set, backed up by the Menahan Street Band.

Set List

Why is it So Hard?

Please note: due to the difficulties and vagaries of recording and broadcasting live from a convention center with a bustling crowd, the quality of the recording may not be as high as what you've come to expect from The Current. It's still pretty good, though.
