Courtney Barnett was one of the indie darlings of 2014, and this year she's one of the hottest acts in music — bar none. The Melbourne singer-songwriter's name seems to be on everyone's tongue as she prepares to release her much-anticipated debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit: her distinctive style manages to sound both precisely considered and loosely shambling all at once.

If that sounds a bit like the way one might describe the Replacements, the comparison is apt: Barnett's a local favorite among Minnesotans, many of whom will relish the opportunity to see her play at Rock the Garden this summer.

Songs Performed

"Lance Jr."
"Canned Tomatoes"
"An Illustration of Loneliness (Sleepless in New York)"
"Dead Fox"
"Nobody Really Cares If You Don't Go to the Party"
"Avant Gardener"
"Pedestrian at Best"
"History Eraser"

The Public Radio Day Stage at SXSW 2015 is made possible by The Current in partnership with KUTX/Austin, WXPN/Philadelphia, KXT/Dallas and WFUV/New York.
