Springsteen gives first encore on Broadway

After winning a special Tony for Springsteen on Broadway, the Boss seems to be feeling a little more free about his stage show. He recently added "The Ghost of Tom Joad" to his previously-inflexible set list, and on Tuesday night he not only gave his first encore of the show's run, he allowed attendees to take their phones out for the performance of Born in the U.S.A. outtake "This Hard Land." Cissy Houston reacts to abuse revelation

Cissy Houston has made a statement about the revelation, in a new documentary, that her late daughter Whitney Houston was molested in childhood by cousin Dee Dee Warwick. Cissy Houston and her niece Dionne Warwick — the sister of Dee Dee, who died in 2008 — jointly authored the statement to People.

"We do not intend to defend, condone or excuse the crime of molestation," they write. "We cannot, however, overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick (Dionne's sister) molested two of my three children." They go on to say that for the allegations of abuse to be voiced by sources after the deaths of both Whitney and Dee Dee is unfair and characterizes the allegations as "rumor, innuendo and hearsay."

Schneider and her fellow 2018 honorees will be honored at a Kennedy Center concert next April. (Star Tribune)

Tim Allen commissioned a painting of the Home Improvement set from a member of Guided By Voices

Maybe you knew that Guided By Voices guitarist Tobin Sprout is also an accomplished painter. Did you know that one of his biggest collectors is actor Tim Allen? "He has a clever eye and I appreciate clever eyes," says Allen in a new interview about his large collection of Sprout's work. One revelation: Allen actually commissioned Sprout to paint the Home Improvement set, as seen from the front seat of the "Home Improvement hot rod" where Allen used to relax between takes. (Pitchfork)
