This week's schedule
It's an exciting week for Music on TV, and Tuesday is the day to look out for. That day, Weyes Blood — who came in for an in-studio session at The Current in May — will be on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and American singer/songwriter David Crosby — founding member of the Byrds, the band that gave Bob Dylan his first number one hit, "Mr. Tambourine Man," in the 1960s — will be performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the band headed by John Darnielle, The Mountain Goats, will be the musical feature for the day. Thursday brings Austin indie-rockers Spoon to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC. Friday will also bring a new showing of Today on NBC with Kacey Musgraves.
Some notable reruns this week include a performance by Durand Jones & The Indications (Tuesday) and Japanese singer/songwriter Joji (Wednesday), both on on Last Call with Carson Daly. Shaggy will be on The Late Late Show with James Corden again (Monday) while a rerun of The Jonas Brothers will be on Jimmy Fallon (Friday).
American rapper Meek Mill will be on TV twice this week, once on a new showing of CBS This Morning and another time on Saturday as the musical guest accompanying Scottish actor James McAvoy — famously known for his role in the "X-Men" series and the movie "Split" — on Saturday Night Live when last year's episode from Jan 26 re-airs on the weekend.
