Kind Country bring cosmic bluegrass into the Radio Heartland studio
by Mike Pengra
October 10, 2019
I got schooled on the term "jam grass" recently by my new friends in Kind Country. "Jam grass" is basically what happens when bluegrass players run into — let's say … the Grateful Dead. That's what Kind Country call their music, and they also use the term "cosmic" a bit in that description. The band members are excited for a big tour starting this weekend, when they're going to meet up and play with some friends (and fellow jam-grassers) in Leftover Salmon, Railroad Earth, The Wooks and more.
Kind Country's latest record came out last spring, and it's called Hard Times. The whole band came in and set up in our studio recently to jam (appropriately enough) and to talk about their upcoming travels.
