Although Lizzo spent the most weeks, 19, at the top of our chart in 2019 and we love to claim her as Minnesotan, we can't. Bon Iver spent three weeks at the summit, but is from WI and J.S. Ondara, Grammy nod and two weeks at #1 could also be the considered for most successful local chart denizen, but he's originally from Kenya. So the award SHOULD go to... Charlie Parr! It's the second week at the top for the man who was raised in Austin and is now a proud citizen of Duluth. This guy is a real deal Minnesotan! So much so that after 9 more dates out west ends his US tour 2019, he'll settle in an annual tradition at The Turf Club: A Sunday night residency in January. Better get your tickets now!

Billboard just named her the Best Young Artist of the Year and NPR nominated her as Weird Achiever of the Year! Billie Eilish was second to Lizzo on our Chart of the Year by holding the Number One spot for a total of 4 weeks. And she'll be inducted into our Hall of Fame next week, because it'll be the last of the year, as Xmas Day and New Years Day fall on a Wednesday. Charlie Parr, Brittany Howard, Wilco and Nick Cave can join her too!

Speaking of Brittany, back up to four, she's part of the The Story of 1999 project that we just wrapped up.

Inducted this week to the Chart Hall of Fame are Soccer Mommy for the second time and Angel Olsen for the very first. Angel is getting on many end of year lists including featuring twice in the Top 25 of Pitchfork's Top 100 songs.

Dropping three places this week to 13 is not unlucky for Tame Impala. They just announced a huge world tour for 2020 including July 17th at Xcel Energy Center. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, the thirteenth, but we have a Cross Currents pre-sale for you tomorrow (Thursday).

Nick Cave at fourteen was one of my Top 5 shows of the year and Sleater-Kinney at sixteen made it onto my Top 5 Albums list. We need to know what worked for you this year to put together our annual Top 89.

Born in Botswana and raised in Zambia, Australia is now claiming one of the biggest break out hip hop stars of the year Sampa The Great as their own! She crashes in as the highest brand new entry at #15, catch up with her story via the BBC.

Laetitia Tamko is a Cameroonian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer now based in NYC and known as Vagabon. She's brand new in the basement and wraps her tour with Angel Olsen on the left coast this weekend.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to the GNDWIRE Ski Party with The Cactus Blossoms, Black-eyed Snakes, Charlie Parr (solo), Portal III, Dead Man Winter, and Humbird at Papa Charlies in Lutsen, MN on January 10 & 11, 2020.
