Live Virtual Session: Har Mar Superstar at Sounds Like Home
May 26, 2020
Over the weekend of May 15 to 17, The Current hosted Sounds Like Home: a virtual festival of Minnesota music. You can find all the performances archived on The Current's Facebook page, and they'll also be archived one by one right here on our website. Thanks to the Minnesota Legacy Amendment Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund for allowing The Current to compensate artists for their performances.
Har Mar Superstar — aka Sean Tillmann — has released many albums under an array of assumed names and has performed in several side projects (Sean Na Na, Calvin Krime, Gayngs, Neon Neon). Earlier this year, Tillmann released the first album with his new band, Heart Bones, a duo he co-founded with Austin, Texas, singer-songwriter Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog, Sweet Spirit).
Har Mar Superstar has enjoyed numerous collaborations across genres and geographies, and he has opened for such artists as The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sia, Gossip, the Afghan Whigs, and Lizzo.
Beyond music, you may have also seen Tillmann in films and TV shows like Starsky & Hutch, Pitch Perfect, Broad City and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Now at home in Minneapolis during the coronoavirus pandemic, Har Mar Superstar connected with The Current to perform a set of music as part of the virtual Sounds Like Home festival.
