Australia's Gang of Youths have released their third studio album, Angel in Realtime.

It’s a band that has been described as being overly ambitious. Near as I could tell, that means they're not afraid to embrace a large, polished sound — instead of being an indie rock band kind of bashing it out in the basement.

I had a chance recently to speak with the lead singer Dave Le'aupepe about the deeply personal songs on Angel in Realtime dealing with loss, family, and secrets.

“It's not necessarily the reaction I'm worried about,” he says. “It's more about the idea that so much of myself and my dad I've allowed and I've propelled out into the world and as a terrifying thing. You know how much it means too much.” Read more from our conversation soon.
