A hip-hop beef went pescatarian this week as musician and entrepreneur Pusha T released a diss track extolling Arby's Crispy Fish Sandwich and dissing McDonald's Filet O Fish.
The reason for the beef goes back to 2003, when Pusha T, in the early part of his career, wrote McDonalds' now-famous and unmistakable "I'm Lovin' It" jingle. Looking back, Pusha T doesn't think he was paid well enough for the work. “I did it at a very young age at a very young time in my career where I wasn’t asking for as much money and ownership,” Pusha T told Rolling Stone magazine. “It’s something that’s always dug at me later in life like, ‘Dammit, I was a part of this and I should have more stake.’ ”
In his new song for Arby's, Pusha T raps about the Arby's Crispy Fish Sandwich, but he really lays on the spice when he disses McDonald's Filet O Fish.
While all this talk about fish sandwiches might make you hungry, it got us thinking about other diss tracks in music — and there are plenty. So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs that are diss tracks do you want to hear?
