It’s nearly time for another A-Z Weekend on The Current. Starting later today until the end of July 4, you’ll hear the best songs in our library in alphabetical order. To kick off the fun, today’s Coffee Break is taking an alphabetical theme in another direction. We’re focusing on bands that only use some combination of the 26 letters of the English alphabet as their name.

How do you know if a band is part of this special club? Say the name out loud, and if you only say letters, that’s good. So, R.E.M.? Yes. TLC? Absolutely. EMF? Unbelievable choice.

OK Go? OK no. INXS? Close, but “IN” isn’t a letter. U2? Numbers need not apply.

For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, which songs by bands with letter-only names should we play?
