It was 60 years ago today (August 28) that the 1963 March for Jobs and Freedom was organized in Washington D.C. Known as the “March on Washington,” the event brought together more than 250,000 people. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial, as part of one of the largest rallies for human rights ever staged in the United States.

To remember the day and its historical impact, let’s put together a playlist of songs — new and old — that carry the uplifting spirit of the March on Washington.

For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, which songs about civil rights, freedom, and progress do you want to hear?
