Today marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15). This span of time is used to celebrate the many accomplishments, contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of Hispanic people. The resolution calls “on the people of the United States, especially the educational community, to observe National Hispanic Heritage Month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.”

Hispanic Heritage Month also happens to coincide the celebration of many Latin American countries’ independence days - including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and Chile - as well as with Día de la Raza.

Let’s celebrate and start off National Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting the music of artists we love.

For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs by Hispanic/Latinx artists do you want to hear?
