When we go see a band or artist perform, a concert is a chance to survey the past, present, and future of their work. If there’s a brand-new album that’s making the rounds, it often has a heavy influence on the set list. That is, unless the band has been around forever and has built expectations around playing an extensive back catalog of hits. Once that album’s release cycle and tour completes, some of those songs never get played live again. Unless…

That is, unless the band or artist decides to trot out the album again for a big anniversary or some other revival. When it’s a beloved album, this often stirs a wave of long-time fans reconnecting with the material — or it gives newer fans a taste of something they weren’t around for the first time. For example, Ben Gibbard is doing double nostalgic duty on his current tour featuring a pair of 20-year-old albums, Death Cab for Cutie’s Transatlanticism and the Postal Service’s Give Up. There are so many other classic albums that deserve a new tour, though. Which ones come to mind for you?

For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, which band/artist do you wish would launch a tour celebrating one of their albums?
