Today is Dictionary Day, a holiday celebrating the birth of Noah Webster, the man responsible for publishing the first truly American dictionary in 1806 titled A Compendious Dictionary of the English Language. Today, people are encouraged to celebrate language, the importance of learning, and the expansion of one’s vocabulary.

How can you celebrate the day? Look through a dictionary and learn some new words! Here’s another option — suggest some songs for this morning’s Coffee Break.

Think about song titles or song lyrics that may have required a trip to the dictionary — OR song lyrics with an exemplification of an exceptional lexicon.

For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, which songs with strong vocabulary in the title or lyrics do you want to hear?
