Today’s Coffee Break is abuzz with apiaries! Today is National Urban Beekeeping Day – a day to celebrate the keeping of bee colonies in towns and cities. The holiday was established by the nonprofit organization Detroit Hives in 2019, to support urban beekeepers, and to increase awareness about the importance of our fuzzy, flying friends.

Bees are vital to the ecosystem. They are incredible pollinators and can be a source of honey for those lucky enough to live near a hive. Let’s celebrate the bees and those who love and care for them with music!
