Today sadly marks the anniversary of the death of Amy Winehouse. She was found dead at her home at the age of 27 in 2011. Winehouse released her debut album, Frank, in 2003, and her powerhouse follow-up, Back To Black, led to five Grammy Awards.

The BBC called Winehouse the “pre-eminent voice of her generation”, and we tend to agree. Winehouse helped elevate a “retro-cool” sound during her too-short career, and her musical influence can still be heard from artists across genres. Talking about Winehouse got us thinking about her music and the throwback resurgence she helped to usher in. Today we’re celebrating Amy Winehouse with music.

So for today’s 9:30 coffee break, what songs with a retro-cool sound would you like to hear?
