Coffee Break: Foliage
by Jill Riley and Nilufer Arsala
September 26, 2024
As we learned during Monday’s Coffee Break, fall brings many things. One of our favorites happens to be the changing colors of the season. The leaves change the closer we inch towards winter, and according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the changes relate to a plant’s Chlorophyll (the greens), Carotenoids (the yellows and oranges), Anthocyanins (reds and purples), and the tannins (browns).
Luckily, it’ll be pretty easy to keep up with the changing of the leaves with the DNR’s animated Fall Color Map to keep us informed. Let’s celebrate one of the highlights of the season with music!
So, for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs related to foliage, or the changing colors of the season, would you like to hear?
