Fans of ‘90s movies can rejoice because April 8 marks the day that fictional pop idol Rex Manning made a promotional appearance (and caused quite a stir) at Empire Records. The film featured an all-star cast that included Liv Tyler, Debi Mazar, and Renee Zellweger.
The film Empire Records became a cult classic after its release in 1995. It tells the story of a group of misfit employees attempting to save their beloved record store from being taken over by a corporate entity. Their antics coincide with Rex Manning’s visit — making for quite a day in the life of the music lovers. Today, let’s mark the occasion by creating a playlist of songs from movies centered around music!
