I have another United States of Americana coming your way! I just got a brand new tune from Billy Strings that I'm excited to play for you! Also on the docket is a song from Charley Crockett. He'll be on stage at the Palace next Friday. We'll also hear new songs Johnny Blue Skies, India Ramey and The Avett Brothers.

On this United States of Americana I’ll feature a rising star in the Americana world.  Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway have a brand-new EP, I’ll play a tune from it. I also have new music from Eliza Thorn, a local tune from Clayton Ryan and we’ll hear from many artists in our neighborhood in the week to come, like The Mavericks, Old 97’s and Nat Myers.

On this United States of Americana I’ll feature a handful of brand new things! We’ll hear a couple of new songs from Boy Golden, this Winnipeg artist caught my attention with his excellent storytelling in his songs. The new album is called For Eden. I’ll also play new ones from Sunny Sweeney, Amanda Anne Platt & the Honeycutters, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and Johnny Blue Skies. I will also feature a song from Linda Ronstadt, who received the National Medal of Honor at the White House 10 years ago. Join me Sunday at 8am for United States of Americana!    

On this United States of Americana I will unveil several tunes from the new album from Johnny Blue Skies. (aka Sturgill Simpson!) It’s his 1st album under the new moniker and also his first since he had to cancel a bunch of show after injuring his vocal chords.  After a few years rest, his voice is in great shape! I will also feature new songs from a young bluesman named McKinley James, Futurebirds from their new album & Wyatt Flores, who just announced a First Avenue show! 

United States of Americana returned today! We’ll check out a new live tune from Steve Earle. I also have brand new sounds from Maya De Vitry & Cassandra Lewis. Plus, I’ll debut a rockin’ new song from JD McPherson from his upcoming album, a brand new tune from MJ Lenderman and we’ll remember Kinky Friedman, who passed away a couple weeks ago.  

It’s a special “Pride” installment of United States of Americana to celebrate Pride Weekend in the Twin Cities! You’ll hear artists like kd lang, Brandi Carlile, Orville Peck, Boy Golden, Angel Olsen & Indigo Girls!

On this United States of Americana I’ll feature new tunes from a funky New Orleans band called Sierra Green and the Giants, The Wild Feathers,  who’ll be playing The Current’s Happy Hour at Sociable Cider Werks on 7/25 & we’ll hear a couple of instrumentals from both Hermanos Gutierrez & the buzzed about LA trio LA LOM, who have their debut album on the way. I’ll also talk about some of the shows this week from Los Lobos, The Blue Ox Festival and Chuck Prophet.  

On this United States of Americana. I’ll feature a brand-new tune from local Americana heroes, The Cactus Blossoms. They have a new album coming early this fall. I also have a new one from Margo Price with a Tom Petty cover & a song from Fantastic Cat that features Adam Duritz of Counting Crowes.     Plus, I have a handful of songs for Dad on Father’s Day!

This United States of Americana features my session with The Secret Sisters. They were so fun to chat with & they sounded awesome! I also have the usual dose of new tunes from artists like the legendary songwriter Jim Lauderdale, plus, I’ll debut new ones from Melissa Carper and Cassandra Lewis.

The Secret Sisters’ fifth album released on March 29, and in May, they visited the Twin Cities for two shows at the Parkway Theater in Minneapolis. Between shows, they visited The Current for a session hosted by Bill DeVille.
