On this USofA I’ll feature lots of new sounds from artists like Anders Osborne, Madeleine Peyroux, Jesse Dayton & Alisa Amador. Plus, I have a gorgeous one from brand the brand new Kacey Musgraves album. It’s also St. Patrick’s Day weekend, so I have a few Irish tunes in the mix too. In the midst of Womens History Month, I have lots of new music from women on this week’s show. We’ll check out music from this week Louisa Stancioff. The Hawthorns, Rachel Brooke and the new supergroup Wonder Women of Country, featuring Kelly Willis, Brennen Leigh (originally from Moorhead MN) &  Melissa Carper. Join me at 8am this Sunday! On this United States of Americana, I’ll feature brand new songs from artists like Rhiannon Giddens, Emily Nenni, Old 97’s, Lindsay Lou and Bonny Light Horseman. Plus, it’s a busy week for concerts! I featured several on the show. Artists like Jess Williamson, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Cat Power.  

I featured brand new songs from Pokey LaFarge, Secret Sisters, Kacey Musgraves & Kimmi Bitter on this United States of Americana. Plus, we remembered Dex Romweber, who founded Flat Duo Jets back in the 1980’s. He died on Friday at 57. We also remembered Bob Stinson, who passed away 29 years ago today.  

On this United States of Americana, I’ll debut a new song from Adia Victoria, which is featured on a new tribute album called My Black Country: The Songs of Alice Randall. Randall is a black songwriter, who has had quite a bit of success in country music. Her songs have been recorded by people like Trisha Yearwood, Glen Campbell,  and Johnny Cash. I also have new music from local artist Charlie Parr and Adrianne Lenker. I’ll also feature a few Grammy winners!     

On this United States of Americana I featured a couple songs from Buddy Holly and a tune from the Big Bopper, both perished in a plane crash near Clear Lake Iowa. Young singer Ritchie Valens and the planes pilot also died. The crash became known as “the day the music died,” immortalized in song by Don Mclean. I played new songs by Phosphorescent, Alex Jordan, Waxahatchee & we caught a couple tunes from Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, who perform at the Palace on March 2 & 3!

I debuted a new track from Charley Crockett on this USofA. We also checked out new music from Tony Gilkyson and Colby T Helms on the show. Plus, we back at the year 2005. I played some of the Americana songs from the year that The Current signed on in the Twin Cities!

On this weeks edition of United States of Americana I featured new local music from The Roe Family Singers. I have new sounds for 2024 from artists like Hurray for the Riff Raff, the Australian duo The Pleasures, Rod Picott & local artist John Louis, who has an album release show this week! I also play a couple from Dolly Parton, who turned 78 years of age a few days back!

I’ll feature brand new songs from Kentucky artist Brit Taylor and Delta Spirit frontman Matthew Logan Vasquez. Also, a couple cool new covers from Wilco and Drunken Hearts.  T-Bone Burnett turns 76 today, So, I’ll feature him and several songs from albums he produced!
