This year’s March Music Madness centers on 2003. It was an era when artists could increasingly create works that earned both critical and commercial acclaim — and purposely blur genre conventions in the process.

It’s time to vote! Each day, from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., we’ll open a new matchup for voting every half hour between Tuesday, March 15, and Friday, March 18. At the end of the day on Friday, we’ll announce the top album of 1992.
